I recently had an opportunity to meet a bunch of really nice people at a local hospital. I’ve never been in a hospital before as a patient, and the last time I had any type of surgery was over 30 years ago when I had my wisdom teeth removed, so I was pretty terrified. Fortunately, all’s well that ends well, and I’m safely home and almost back to my normal routine sans one tiny part (RIP gallbladder – you served me well for several decades).
Fortunately, in the world of emergencies and surgeries and hospital stays, this one was extremely minor, but I did come in contact with so many people over that few days who literally were fighting for their lives, and was amazed at the ability of the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff to make everyone as comfortable and calm as possible. This artwork is inspired by those people who are often able to help provide a temporary bridge over that valley we will all eventually walk through.
